Shenendehowa Senior Breaks Meet Record In The Dash By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Photos by John Nepolitan Carter Cukerstein of Shenendehowa Central NY was among those booking a spot in the upcoming 114th Millrose Games on Wednesday at The Armory in New York City. Cukerstein ran a personal-best 6.29 seconds in the 55-meter dash to break the meet record at the Millrose Games Trials. It was also a New York Section 2 record and a US#1. In a dramatic girls mile, Cate DeSousa of Red Bank Catholic NJ caught and passed Julia Schriefer of Wheatley NY in the final strides and won by a 5:04.04 to 5:04.16 margin. Both of them qualified for the Millrose Games. In the girls dash, Jaia James of Winslow Township NJ ran 7.21 seconds for 55 meters to earn a spot at the Millrose Games. The Susan Wagner NY boys ran US#2 7:58.03 to win the 4x800 relay. Freehold Township NJ's girls took the 4x800 relay in 9:32.02, good for US#4. More news |
