Prep Fields For Upcoming Millrose Games Take Shape With Busy Day At The Armory By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Colin Boler of Delbarton NJ and everyone else trying to get a qualifying time for the high school boys mile at the Millrose Games seemed doomed half way through Wednesday's race at the Millrose Trials. Boler, his twin brother Brian, Charlie Ortmans from Virginia and Micah Lawson from New Jersey -- and everyone else -- went through the 880 yards in 2:13, even as announcer Ian Brooks was reminding them that the standard for a spot on the starting line Feb. 11 was 4:15. Lindsay Hausman of Kent Place NJ was the winner of the girls invitational mile and secured a Millrose Games spot with 4:56.36. Seton Hall Prep advanced its boys 4x400 relay team to the Millrose Games with a US#1 time of 3:20.36. Prizila Negrete from The Ursuline School NY won the girls weight throw with a best mark of US#7 46-9.25. In the boys 4x800 relay, Chaminade NY pulled away from the challenge of Bay Shore NY and finished with US#2 8:01.51. Bay Shore finished in 8:02.23. Parker Kim from Syosset NY won the boys weight throw with US#5 65-5.75 and also earned a spot in the Millrose Games. Jose Davis Whittaker from York Early College NY won the boys 55-meter dash in 6.43, edging out Malachi James of Burlington City NJ (6.44) and Jadon Spain from O'Neill NY (6.44) for the win and automatic Millrose qualifier. Kiera Davis of Hillcrest NY got through the girls 55 meters in 7.12 seconds to win the race and earn her spot at Millrose. More news |
